Please read the following carefully before placing your order:
- Since all the vinyl LP records are vintage (some dating all the way back to the 1960s), please expect light buffs and scratches on the record surface.
- The vinyl material of the LP record is UV sensitive and susceptible to heat damage. Exposure to direct sunlight will cause the LP record to warp / contort. Hence, the clock must be installed on a wall away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Since the hands of the clock are exposed, please do not place the clock flat on its face or touch the hands. Doing so may bend the hands and impair the natural motion of the clock.
FAQs
Q> What material are these clocks made of?
The clocks are made using genuine, vintage vinyl LP records. These records are either 33 ½ or 45 RPM 12” Long Play vinyls dating back to the 1960s/1970s/1980s.
Q> How can one tell whether these are actual original, vintage vinyl LP records?
We use only 100% genuine, authentic vintage vinyl LP records to manufacture our clocks. Each clock comes with the original jacket of the vinyl record to validate its authenticity. The jacket features artwork on the front cover and a song list on its back detailing information about singers, music composers, etc. Further, the vinyl LP record also features a center label on which the song list is printed.
Q> Can these vintage vinyl LP records be played?
Obviously not. Since they have been converted into clocks, the only way to play these vintage vinyl LP records on a turntable or a gramophone would be to remove / dismantle the clock and then try.
Q> Why take these beautiful vinyl LP records and convert them into something else?
Vintage vinyl LP records have very little play value, primarily because of scratches and dust that accumulate over several decades they have been around for. Hence, if played on a gramophone or a turntable, they tend to skip. Vintage LP records also pose a risk to the environment as the vinyl material they are made of is non-biodegradable. By converting these redundant vinyl LP records into actual functional clocks that serve a purpose, Indian Hippy aims to promote the message of ‘recycle and reuse.’
Q> How do I install this vinyl LP record clock on my wall?
Our beautiful vinyl LP record clocks come 100% ready for hanging on your wall. Simply open the plastic body compartment at the back, insert a pencil (AA) battery and you are good to go! The plastic body case comes ready with an inbuilt hook to hang the clock.
Q> How are these hand painted clocks packed?
Our LP record clocks are packed in specially designed boxes to ensure safe delivery to your doorstep.
