The CNN icon show explores the magic of Bollywood in a 30 minute segment that features interviews of Bollywood's biggest superstar Amitabh Bachchan, choreographer Farah Khan, music composer AR Rahman, and Bollywood's last remaining poster collective, Indian Hippy and its founder, Hinesh Jethwani.
For decades, Bollywood film releases were accompanied by beautiful painted film posters that decorated city streets all over India. But where Mumbai, Bollywood's home town, used to have 300 such poster painters, now there remain only a handful.
But all is not lost, as Hinesh Jethwani (30) discovered when he set up his company "Indian Hippy" in 2009, a collective made up of the last remaining Bollywood film poster painters.
In this video interview, Hinesh Jethwani, Founder & Head of Indian Hippy talks about how he aims to keep the craft going by offering bespoke services such as customized and personalized hand-painted Bollywood movie posters.
"We want to preserve this culture in every way possible so that the coming generations can get a fair chance to understand what this art was all about and experience its magic," explains Hinesh.
Also featured in the video, Indian Hippy's team of artists are captured painting customized Bolllywood film posters as well as a hand painted poster portrait of the great Bollywood film legend, Amitabh Bachchan.
